In this recipe I will be introducing you to one of my favorite childhood cookie recipes,ย Banana Jumbos!ย I have a huge collection of family recipes that I will be sharing on my blog throughout the year. These are really moist with a cake like consistency and just so delicious to snack on. KID APPROVED!
As you can see this recipe is ancient haha!
BANANA JUMBOS
1 Cup Butter
1 Cup Sugar
2 Eggs
1 Cup Mashed Ripe Bananas
1/2 Cup Buttermilk (add a little vinegar to your milk and let it sit for a few minutes)
1 tsp. Vanilla
3 Cups Flour
1 1/2 tsp. Soda
1/2 tsp. Salt
1 Cup Chopped Nuts (optional) I put nuts in 1/2 the batch
Mix well butter, ย sugar and eggs. Mix in bananas, buttermilk and vanilla. Blend in flour, soda and salt. Mix and then add in nuts. Heat oven to 350 and bake about 12 minutes until golden.
If you are storing most of them I usually do put them in the refrigerator because they do get quite moist and can stick together. I hope you enjoy this recipe!
These are delicious! Grandkids loved them. I added chocolate mini morsels instead of nuts. Great recipe.๐ท
